Depression and Alzheimer’s Disease – Is There a Link?
If you feel your memory is impaired, you should know that Alzheimer’s disease does not normally damage your brain cells. At the same time, though, the disease can disrupt your communication system with other brain cells, meaning you may be unable to communicate with others. It can also damage the pathways that run throughout the brain, which means you can no longer “feel” what other people feel.
However, while the disease can create symptoms that make you appear to be demented or mentally ill, they are not the cause of those symptoms. Alzheimer’s disease, once diagnosed, is not caused by negative thoughts. It is not caused by negative feelings. It is not caused by sadness. The most common symptoms of Alzheimer’s Disease
The most common symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease include memory loss, confusion, changes in personality, difficulties in finding words, changes in posture and movement, slowness of thought and speech, problems with motor function, slowness of reflexes and movement, confusion, difficulty in finding the right words and expressing thoughts, difficulty in remembering, feeling fatigued, and difficulties with sleep.
If you have many of these symptoms, you should take extra care to clear your thoughts and clear up any unnecessary stress. Make sure that you do not have too much stress in your life. Stress weakens the immune system, increasing the risk of Alzheimer’s disease. Be sure to choose activities that help you clear your thoughts. Take a yoga class or join a mentoring program. Use meditation techniques and guided imagery to help you clear your thoughts.
To avoid depression you should avoid the influence of negative emotions and thoughts. Be sure that you listen to calming music. You should avoid stressful activities, and spend time with friends and family. You should also avoid alcohol and drugs.
